Bull Riding
Bull riding is the most popular and dangerous rodeo event. Riders strap themselves to the back of a 2,000 lb. bull with a thick flat braided bull rope. Attached to the underside of the bull rope is a large cowbell that adds sound effect to an exciting ride but also acts as a weight to help the rope come off the bull after the eight-second ride. Both the bull and the rider are judged in this event.
